Hello there, my name is Monica, and I am the founder of For Love of Laity! Here is a touch about me in case you were curious.
WHO AM I
Hi! My name is Monica, and I hope to be a saint someday. Wouldn’t it be amazing if it were socially acceptable to introduce ourselves this way? I think so. But in case some of you are shocked, I can add some more traditional answers to this question. I am a young adult striving to live out my Catholic faith well, and I LOVE many small joys in this life. I love spanish moss on tall trees, a good rocking chair, quality conversation, quiet chapels, and beautiful homes, but nothing more than our Lord. My Adonai. My family and loved ones are my home, and I pray you feel welcome here.
WHY I CREATED FOR LOVE OF LAITY
Sanctity starts today. Believe it or not, our path to holiness is already in the works, and living as the laity of the church is a part of everyone’s story. Before discovering our “Big V” vocation, we live so many days as laity learning to live our primary vocation of love more fully. We cannot reach holiness without the nitty gritty difficult moments of daily life, yet I know I myself have felt alone in my struggles more times than I can count. I created For Love of Laity to fill a void and be a friend to those like myself who often feel alone in striving to live life well. You do not need to have the answer to every difficult question, but finding sound advice from others isn’t an easy feat these days. It is my hope that “For Love of Laity” would become a safe refuge for anyone seeking companionship, hope, and sound advice founded upon experience as a young Catholic in today’s world. While my reflections most certainly will not solve the problems of the world, I pray that my accounts of the Lord’s presence in my own life might allow you to see his love more fully in each day.
MY DISCLAIMER
My reflections come strictly from real-life experience, prayer, and time with our Lord. I cannot promise that my reflections will solve your problems, or that you will relate to everything I say. It is, however, my hope that the pieces of my story that are relatable would make Christ more visible in your life, and guide you to the foot of the cross where Jesus is waiting to love you.
So thanks for stopping by, I’m so glad you came. You are not alone and are welcome here. If you have any questions or would like to chat, contact me!
With all my love and prayers,
Monica +JMJ+
